For television viewers, New Year starts off with an exciting range of brand new programmes on Star World.

Described as America’s No.1 show, ‘American Idol’ that will air on January 16 will once again bring the judging panel of Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, along with host Ryan Seacrest, who will be on the lookout for new music sensations. It will put the spotlight on wannabe warblers, deluded divas and off-key performers. Star World will present a new investigative drama inspired by a real-life forensic anthropologist. With equal doses of humour and heart, ‘Bones’ - that has its premier on January 9 - explores the humanity behind the scientists who investigate horrific crimes.
Award showsOn January 15, the scandalous lives of the residents of sunny Newport Beach will be unearthed in ‘The O.C.’
On January 14, the red carpet will be rolled out for one of the most anticipated awards shows, the 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards. On January 28, the 14th edition of ‘Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards’ will be broadcast live on the channel.
