This is one of the best song ever written about Sri Lanka. Sang by Mr. Piyal Perera of the Sri Lankan greatest music band, Gypsies. Without real quality visuals , most of young generations will not obtain the feeling of the Mother Land, Sri Lanka. Then I thought to make the best visuals available with my knowledge and I'm 100% satisfied with what I did. Don't think this is my experience. Because I've never visited any other country.If I have some money, someday I'll do. But I really love my mother land more than anything else. I got to know that one day. The day the 30 years long deadly war was ended by Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksham the president of the country, I was cried. Don't know how much. But never before for my own thing. The bodypaint campaign forms part of the overall 2010 Pepsi MAX activity, which includes the latest Pepsi MAX TV commercial set to launch this summer.

The new TV commercial was filmed in Africa and highlights the talents of the 'MAX football stars'.

"When Pepsi MAX first approached me with the idea of using bodypaint as a way to bring to life their campaign this year I thought it was brilliant idea," said Chelsea goal-machine Drogba

"In every football stadium around the world you see colour in the stands, but more so in African stadiums where fans often use bodypaint to show their support for their team.

"Putting paint on the players was a great way to show our love for the game and I think the results are amazing.”
Ahmed Abdel-Karim, UK Marketing Manager, added: “This year, we want to bring fans a campaign that not only features the best players in the world, but also presents them in a unique way that is entertaining and fun.

"The bodypaint images bring a modern look to a very traditional means of expression and showcase each of our players’ universal passion for the game.”

Earlier this year, Pepsi MAX launched the track, ‘Oh Africa’, which was recorded by Akon, Keri Hilson, the Soweto Gospel Choir and 16 aspiring musicians from around the world.

The track will be the anthem for the new football TV commercial.

The Pepsi campaign follows English model Abbey Clancy - partner of Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Peter Crouch - heading a list of football 'WAGS' sporting bodypainted national strips ahead of this summer's World Cup finals.

Clancy, as well as Bethany Dempsey - the wife of Fulham forward Clint - appear in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit 2010 shoot, having had a portion of their country's national shirt painted on to their skin.

The leader of the group was 'Neel Warnakulasuriya', has able to keep his position with many obstacles until now. The heart of the group is 'Nelson Vass', is the leading singer. 'My Name is Khan' a love story, not about terrorism - Shah Rukh

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan says his upcoming film 'My Name is Khan', which pairs him with co-actor Kajol after an on-screen hiatus of eight years, does not have terrorism as its main theme and is mostly a love story.

"This film is first and foremost a love story. In fact this is one of the nicest love stories I have ever participated in – and I have participated in some of the best love stories that have been made here," Khan told reporters on Wednesday night after the first look of the film was released.

Directed by Karan Johar, 'My Name is Khan' tells the story of an autistic man Rizwan Khan (played by Shah Rukh Khan), who is caught in the aftermath of the September 11 militant attacks in the United States.

Khan, co-actor Kajol and Johar are teaming up after more than eight years, in what has been billed as one of the biggest releases to come out of Bollywood in a while.

The film is widely anticipated by fans of Khan and Kajol, whose great on-screen chemistry have helped deliver several hits in the past.

Fox Star Studios has signed a deal to finance and distribute the film, which unconfirmed media reports have pegged at 21 million USD.

However, both Johar and Fox have refused to confirm the figure, which, if true would be the highest ever for a Bollywood film.

"This film will be a step towards Indian cinema reaching worldwide," Khan said. India, home to the world's most prolific movie industry, has long tried to draw wider audiences, including by forging ventures with Hollywood studios looking to offset sluggish box-office sales with new markets and cheaper production costs.

The date was 27th January 6.00 pm, the venue was Torrington Square (Independence Square). After a brisk walk for about one hour I started to relax with my usual friends at our meeting place. As I sat one lady said "It’s a real disaster" .I asked why. She said the results have been all manipulated by using computers. I asked by whom? Promptly came the reply; ‘by Basil’. I laughed and told her that it cannot be as there were counting agents appointed by all parties at every Counting Centre and also there were International Observers as well as local Observers; and counting is done in their presence and they are fully briefed on the votes received by each candidate. In addition, even at polling booths there were polling agents and also the Observers. They were allowed to accompany the ballot boxes to the Counting Centres so that there cannot be switching of ballot boxes. She wouldn’t accept. I then asked her as to who told her about it. "That’s what they say" was her prompt reply. I just laughed.

Then another one said that Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake had been held as a hostage till 5.30 pm. I asked for what purpose; "Well, to manipulate the results’ One said he was locked up at the Election Commissioner’s office. Another said No, No, It was at Waters Edge. Another said No, No it was at the Election Commissioner’s office. I told them that "You yourselves are contradicting each other, so how can any one believe these rumours"; they just laughed at me. I also told them that when Dayananda announced the results he was quite critical of state media and that he could have easily mentioned about this alleged abduction. They promptly said, ‘They would have shot him then and there’. I told them that I hope the Government should very soon ban the evil SMS system.

There was W.R.H, Perera, former Conservator of Forests and later Chairman of Timber Corporation, who was also an Advisor to various UN Organizations even long after retirement. He was one of the most respected public officers at that time. He was 200% honest and straight. He stood up to even his own Ministers when it came to injustice and wrong. To him, forest was his life and limb. He was seated next to me. Then he came out with an interesting story. In 1952, after election duty at Buttala electorate, he was resting at Moneragala Rest House with his wife. One candidate who contested was Mr. (later Sir) Leo Fernando from Panadura. Some of his friends and relations, of course the elite group, were at the next table discussing the elections. Perera had invited them to tea as he knew some of them. They joined him and his wife. One of these so called gentlemen told him "You know, they (Opposite side) have bribed the Presiding Officer with Rs. 10,000/- and the Assistant Presiding Officer with 5,000/-, Perera asked them who had told them this story. The answer was "Well they say". Perera had said, ‘Well I was the Presiding Officer and my wife was the Assistant Presiding Officer’. They had no place to hide their faces.

After this story, my friends seated around did not open their mouths. Well, these are the evils of rumours and lies. One can understand Somawansa and the JVP spreading all these as it is consistent with their policy. In addition, they are experts on slinging Mud. This time they resorted to the low level of calling people ‘pigs with excreta and pigs eating excreta’. Of course, having lost badly they may be now giving effect to it in style. Somawansa et al are responsible for the killing of 60,000 Sinhala youth in 1988/89. They destroyed public property worth billions. Murder, destruction and treachery is the order of the day for them. Apart from these JVPers, the strange thing is that the ‘Colombians’ are resorting to this type of rumours and lies without using their brains, if they have any. I cannot but agree with Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera when he said, at S.L. Gunasekera’s book launch that "It is the Sinhala vote that matters and not that of the English-speaking pariah who is fondly awaiting Sarath Fonseka to bring back the good old days."

The so-called joint Opposition and their common candidate will never recover from the shock. It’s the post election trauma that drives them to tell fairytale stories.

Sometimes life is dull without these jokers.

‘3 Idiots’ is unstoppable. That's the truth! No distributor, no trade expert, no soothsayer can, at this moment, predict the magnitude of business of this film. No one has an answer, frankly!

‘3 Idiots’ is setting new records in India and also in the international markets. In fact, the second weekend numbers are approx. 70% to 80% of the first weekend numbers. Unimaginable!

No one expected ‘3 Idiots’ to surpass ‘Ghajini’. As I pen this piece, ‘3 Idiots’ has already surpassed ‘Ghajini’ and is already seated on the throne. Only goes to prove yet again that if a film has the merits, the sky is the limit. It can set new records, scale dizzy heights of success and work magic at the ticket window.

Given the fact that the ‘3 Idiots’ wave was so omnipotent, why were the producers of ‘Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi?’, ‘Accident On Hill Road’ and ‘Bolo Raam’ hell-bent on releasing their movies a week later, on December 31? They could've shifted the film to a latter date. That would've ensured more screens and better show timings.

All three films have been badly affected by the ‘3 Idiots’ wave. The numbers are poor. Not that their luck would've changed for better had they arrived later, but, I guess, the numbers would've been marginally better.

The latest released Bollywood movie, ‘3 Idiots’ starring Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor is now being screened at the Majestic Cinema Colombo.

Worldwide released on the Christmas day, December 25, the film, a story of two friends who embark on a quest for a lost buddy is going to be screened here on the New Year’s, January 1.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film revolves around Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi), and Rancho or Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan), three engineering students who all share the same room in a hostel at the fictional ICE, one of the best colleges in India.

While Farhan and Raju are mediocre students from modest backgrounds, Rancho is a wealthy genius who studies for the sheer joy of it. Yet it is precisely his passion for knowledge and his gift for creating machines that incurs the wrath of Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe (ViruS) (Boman Irani). Threatened by Rancho’s talent, ViruS labels him an “idiot” and attempts on a number of occasions to destroy his friendship with Farhan and Raju.

In contrast, ViruS’ model student is Chatur Ramalingam or “Silencer,” (Omi Vaidya) a geek who lives by conforming to the expectations of the system, mindless cramming, and unethical means of destroying his competition. Meanwhile, Rancho also falls in love with ViruS’ pre-med daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor) when he and his “buddies” (Raju and Farhan) “crash” her sister’s wedding.

Their story is framed as a flashback from the present day, five years after graduation. Having lost contact with Rancho who disappeared during the graduation party, Raju and Farhan begin a journey to find him. They are joined by Chatur, now a wealthy and successful businessman, who joins them to settle a bet with Rancho and meet a business associate named Phunsukh Wangdu. Raju and Farhan also find and bring Pia along with them.

The film is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and is a CEL release imported to Sri Lanka by Aiswariya Films.

The box-office film stars Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, Hugh Bonneville, Emma Chambers and James Dreyfus. Every man’s dream comes true for William Thacker, an unsuccessful Notting Hill bookstore owner, when Anna Scott, the world’s most beautiful woman and best-liked actress, enters his shop.

A little later, he still can’t believe it himself, William runs into her again - this time spilling orange juice over her. Anna accepts his offer to change in his nearby apartment, and thanks him with a kiss, which seems to surprise her even more than him.

Eventually, Anna and William get to know each other better over the months, but being together with the world’s most wanted woman is not easy - neither around your closest friends, nor in front of the all-devouring press.

The screenplay was written by Richard Curtis who had previously written Four Weddings and a Funeral. It was. The film won a BAFTA, and was nominated in two other categories. Notting Hill won several other awards, including a British Comedy Award and a Brit Award for the soundtrack.

means Sarath Fonseka or Mahinda Rajapaksha. Both 2 sides are in a cold war regarding who is the Real Hero of the war in Sri Lanka. How can judge this ? specially UNP, the United National Party ? That was the main party in Sri Lanka who opposed in every way to stop the war and speaking about never ever can win a war or defeat Prabhakaran . They always opposed the way this government has done the way of war. always told its fake and made many speeches how Mahinda and Prabhakaran made a treaty and going to sell the country etc. In few weeks the war has been won by the government of Mahinda , there Sarath Fonseka was the Chief .

The problem was, in last 40 years Sarath was in the duty. Never won the 30 year old war. In few years after Mahinda's presidency it won in 4 years time. Who is the real hero ? you must decide . How Sarath is in power hungry these days ? others made him mind to that point. Now he himself believe as the real No. 1 hero is he. There are 3 army forces there. How we can tell Sarath is the one. Can say , only if anyone is insane . The power hungry UNP and the most destruction party in Sri Lanka JVP now in same platform to get the power making false arguments. When they got the said power They didn't know how to do the minister ships.Making false arguments they left their memberships from the government. Because their lack of efficiency in the office.

Do you think Sarath Fonsake must take the presidency ? No , never. But we love him . Others like some opposite politicians have made his mind pollute these days. everyone like the power. Nothing except Sarath Fonseka. He assumes he will win. But never. The only votes he will receive are the votes of UNP, as always less than 50%
of the given votes.

The Only Problem witnSarath is, he doesn't know how to control a country even near to me, except Army. The control of army forces is very much easier than control people. Why ? The forces never question the leader. It's their duty. But people ? they always criticize the ruling party and the president. Do you thing an army chief like Sarath will hear their voice ? These days he will tell "He Can ". But with power he surely changes and will make his own decisions whether people like it or not. He will throw away UNP and JVP too as he left Mahinda and Gotabhaya, who made the way for Sarath to be the chief of Army.
