The Judges




In 2004-2005, the 1st edition of the popular Indian idol contest was judged by of Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik and Farah Khan. They again judged the next set of contestants for year 2005-2006, Indian Idol 2 but for season 3 of Indian Idol two new judges will join Anu Malik, and they are Udit Narayan and Alisha Chinoy.

Alisha Chinoy is an Indian singer and movie actress. She started her career as a pop singer and met with good success initially but then she has some less successful releases. She has since comeback to films as a playback singer. She is well known for her recent successes like Kajra Re ( Bunty Aur Babli (2005) ), Ishq Di Gali, Aaj Ki Raat ( Don The Chase Begins Again (2007) ), Touch me ( Dhoom 2 (2007) ) and Its Rocking ( Kya Love Story Hai (2007) ).

Anu is a well known music director in the Bollywood film industry. He has won many awards including the National Award for his work in Refugee. He has also provided music for such hits as Janeman (2006) , Umrao Jaan (2006) , Zindaggi Rocks (2006) to just mention a few.

Javed Akhtar was born on January 17, 1945 at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and is mostly known as the pair of Salim-Javed. He is known as a lyricist, Urdu poet, scriptwriter and Bollywood film songwriter. He worked together with Salim Khan and the duo have written many great movies in the 1970s and 1980s like Zanjeer (1973), Deewaar (1975), Sholay (1975), Don (1978), and Shaan (1980) to mention a few. He later worked alone and has written for Roop ki Rani, Lakshya, Don The Chase Begins Again (2007) , and forthcoming Sholay (2007) .

Udit Narayan was born in Bharadah in Saptary, Nepal.and is playback singer that is well know in Bollywood. He has sung for many movies and has received many awards from the movie industry. Some of his well know songs include Papa Kehte Hain, Mera Dil Tere Liye, Pehla Nasha, Jadu Teri Nazar, Mehndi Lagake Rakhna, Kya Kare Kya Na Kare, Pardesi Pardesi, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Mitwaa, Main Yahan Hoon, Yeh Tara Woh Tara and Khaike paan banaraswala ( Don The Chase Begins Again (2007) ) to mention a few.
